Bio

Christopher Romano is a percussionist from Norwalk, Connecticut. He holds a B.A. in music performance with emphasis in Jazz drums from Western Connecticut State University.

Prior to finishing his degree at WCSU, he attended the University of Connecticut with a musical scholarship. As a freshman, he earned a spot in the percussion section of the Wind Ensemble and ended up debuting a piece of music at Carnegie Hall. He also was in the UCONN marching band on snare drum and traveled to the 2004 Motor City Bowl. On drum set, he traveled with the Pep Bands for UCONN basketball. 

Chris is an alumni of the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps where he marched snare drum. In addition to his individual private lessons, he was the Percussion Caption Head for The Brien McMahon H.S. Marching Senators for seven seasons.

Currently he plays drums in the Westchester County, NY based instrumental progressive rock band, Valence. They have shared the stage with many bands including Clutch, The Sword, Angel Vivaldi, Consider the Source, Andrew WK, Deafheaven, 3, Moon Tooth and Dream Theater. They have toured all over the North East and were chosen to play the music festival North By North East in Toronto in 2015. Valence also was the opening band at the ProgDay music festival in North Carolina in 2019. They will be putting out their fourth album sometime in the near future.

In addition to Valence, he is active in the jazz scene in Connecticut and plays in multiple jazz combos. He is also a Percussion Instructor for the Southington High School Blue Knights Marching Band.

Chris lives in Meriden, CT and is accepting new students.
